Once, as a teenager, I stood quietly aside as a pastor anointed and prayed for the kid next to me.
We were on a mission trip. Exciting work was happening, God's spirit was on the move, and our pastor sensed it. He prayed over each one of us, with a little bottle of oil in hand, until he found someone he felt the Spirit was resting on.
I didn't get the pastor's anointing that day.
Yet deep downI knew—God was calling me to something, too.
So I went on to follow my quiet calling, and have been discipling young people and families in ministry for over 20 years. Today, I'm a spiritual director, a preacher, a writer, and a lifelong student of the Bible.
It took me way too long, but eventually I realized this life-giving truth.
God's presence isn't only a little oil sprinkled on a few.
It's a fountain, always ready for us to draw from.
Any time we need it.
God’s presence is with us all along—when we prepare a Bible study, and when we read our Bibles for ourselves. When we're feeding those in our communities, and when we're feeding our families at home. When we're walking, talking, creating, cleaning, relaxing, scrolling, and even on Zoom—God is ready and waiting to spend time with us.
Our faith journey isn't about what anyone else sees—it's living into the confidence that God sees us.
It's a dedicated space where you can rest, reflect, and nurture your relationship with God.
As a spiritual director, my job is to listen, ask questions, and walk alongside as you seek to know God more. During spiritual direction, we explore spiritual practices and devote our time to noticing God’s presence in the day-to-day happenings of your life. The relationship of spiritual direction is sacred, safe, and confidential.
If you sense God's inviting you to lean in a little closer—then spiritual direction is for you.
So whether you live out your calling with a pen or paintbrush, or a screwdriver, rolling pin, keyboard, steering wheel, or whatever it is that you are uniquely made to do, get ready to discover all the things that are sacred about your day-to-day.
Together, let’s celebrate God at work in you.
I'm so glad you're here!
